Some generic comments.

  1. Please first discuss such changes in a bug entry.
  2. Please follow the instructions for creating pull requests.

Generally, I feel that there is a close to infinite number of diets. Why those in particular and not, say FODMAP Diet, DASH Diet, Renal Diet, Paelo Diet, LowHistamine Diet, Soft / Pureed Diet, AIP (Autoimmune Protocol), AntiInflammatory Diet, not to mention all the religious diets. I don't want to discuss any of these diets, their relative qualities, just pointing out what this is complicated space.

I would suggest instead that we extend suitableForDiet to accept a DefinedTerm so each group / medical authority can define their own Diet and we avoid disagreement and discussions on what diet X actually means.

Ok, do you want to leave this one in or should I rebuild and remove pre-existing diets?

We cannot remove the existing ones. I would like to have an actual conversation on how this should be done going forward before we talk about pull requests.

Do you want me to open up a new issue or do you want to comment on any of the existing ones?

I understand it's hard to declutter as schema in this case is providing content (the diet types). I checked, but there is no vocabulary equivalent by WHO like there is with the UN for Trade, what would be acceptable sources for you?

File issue #4666, let's continue the conversation there.

With PR #4667 as a generic solution I assume we can close this PR as well? @fthobe

@alex-jansen totally, if additional diettypes should not be picked up #3211 and #3176 can be either closed as not planned or done, depends how you view them.
